Great time to see waterfalls... on about the only bright side I can think of. Anyone that’s been to Catawba falls is probably thinking of what it looks like now. Had a tornado in our area tonight. Definetly ready for a dry spell!

Damn! We’ve had about 20” of rain up here since May 15th. I’m ready for a drought. Hope everyone makes it out alive.
Be careful What you ask for.......dryness in this portion would be deadly.

how often do you get the chance to walk your pet fish down main street? on a serious note: a lot of folks have lost a lot with the flooding and mud slides not to mention the 2 fellows from wyff that lost their lives. hopefully we've seen the worst of it.

Got a buddy in Hickory that works for one of the gas companies. He's been out all night recovering tanks that are floating away. Other friends in Boone could fish off their front porch (they don't live near the river )

It has been intermittent enough down here that the rivers and lakes have gone down, but it won't take much for them to crest again. Two weeks ago the Milton boat access on the Dan right by VIR was up to top of the parking lot. I've seen it up to the top of the ramp but not the entire parking lot.

My uncle used to be the director of public works for the city of Hickory. He's been retired now for about a year and a half....I'm betting that right about now he's glad he doesn't have to deal with all of this stuff.

That was crazy. I drove by there like maybe Wednesday and the river was really high right there. Crazy.

I just shared on FB, a newscast of the Rain at 9:30. I think it is an Asheville station. Day after Day & Night, more Rain trains over the same Hendersonville, Hwy 221, & Lake Lure area. It has a Lot to do with the topo of the area & the Appalachian Spine! This is the area of all the mudslides & washouts. Their getting Hammered again!

Yeah, that weekend I was back and forth to Axton for the Full Gas race and one night the Wildlife officer was sitting in the back of his truck at the entrance with a few lines in the water. Hahaha.

Everybody still afloat? My mom said we got 2.5 inches of rain from 5-6pm in Stanley yesterday.

Yes, except just another 1" in Mount Holly. Rain again today at 6 pm. Thought it was done, but more drizzle & Wind can back in. Done by around 9 pm. That Should be it, other than a spotty shower over the weekend. Drier, & Cooler, Next week. Finally!

Nearly 20" here in Horse Shoe in the last 2 weeks.
Absolutely insane.
We're good but it's slowing down completion at the new crib. Drywall mud won't dry and the slab has too much moisture to lay the flooring.
At least the grass I sowed is growing like mad right now.

We've had our share here....and trying to get final grading done so I can pour driveway and carport slab. Hoping for a break so we can run the vib compactor on it...need a week of hot days and some wind.

My grass is doing real nice, too, though.

Between fans, dehumidifiers and running the HVAC, we have the slab down around 4-6% now. Should be good to go for a while.
