Anyone know who to sell this scrap to? I just replaced the heat pump and AHU in my house and have the old units stripped down in the back of my truck. I hauled them and a couple of cats out to Raleigh Metals today but they wouldn't take the A/C stuff because I wasn't licensed, and said they don't buy cats anymore.

Trying to recoup some money from this HVAC job so anyone know anywhere in the RDU area to haul this stuff?

If you have a receipt for the new HVAC unit, WISE in Clayton should take the old coils. Doubt they will take the cats though. To much of a risk for the scrap yards due to all the thieves.

There's a guy on craigslist that buys cats. He came to me to buy 2 of them once. Been a while and can't remember his business??

i think american metals in clayton still takes cats but you have to fill out a form with your name and stuff and as far as ac stuff i think you have to be licenced everywhere now

Even an electrical license won't work anymore. HAS to be ac license. You can thank all the thieves for that. But it opened up a new business of building ac cages.

How much does an ac unit get for scrap. I still have an old one.

$0 without an HVAC license, apparently.

I would like to know the scrap value as well. I might just sell it to someone to scrap, but don't want to get ripped.

hmmm, do you have any pics? i may be able to make that work. the cats themselves dont have to work since i dont have to pass emissions, it just has to look like they're there.
