I’m pretty new to the game and frameless Mac/ Western Star w/ a CAT C-15/ 13spd. is what I started with. I haul sand and gravel to our plant and it is graded and smooth for most all tilts. I have had some times that the loader Ops haven’t kept the ground level and I’ve literally dumped 15-20 meters away from the pile and called on the yard radio as I left that it’s their problem now. They usually get pissed but know that it’s their responsibility to keep the landing pads clean and flat as they are moving materials into the wash plants/ mixers.I have 2 Mac trailers that I haul with, neither is a frameless, been doing it for years but some loads dumping will make the ol ballon knot pucker up
Man you have the perfect combo in that western star, my favorite transmission is a 13 speedI’m pretty new to the game and frameless Mac/ Western Star w/ a CAT C-15/ 13spd. is what I started with. I love it too. Been driving the loaner the last week while mine was in service and getting an O-ring replaced on the oil cooler. The loner is a star car w/ c-15 ten speed and it just isn’t the same not being able to split on the high side when loaded.Man you have the perfect combo in that western star, my favorite transmission is a 13 speed

Think yours can make the trip way up north to stanleytown by next December? I'm ready to see it rollin down the road.CTB, did that in Mocksville, for a couple years, with coaching from Dillon Wiles.
Those creep me out on almost a daily. I will not drive around them when they're dumping.Looks like a frameless dump that the supports failed.
This is what I drive and I’ve seen some failures of others. View attachment 387566View attachment 387567
Damn that is a nice looking setup!
I appreciate itDamn that is a nice looking setup!
the "insert your pronoun to not be offended" person in need as dressed compared to the Man doing the work explains half of it.
Fucking pussy.
That’s pretty sick. That would be a sweet build. I’d daily drive it.
I bet that was a harsh, bouncy landing though. That’s pretty sick. That would be a sweet build. I’d daily drive it.
I've pulled both type, & rocked more than I Should have. Was lucky, never to flip one. I've seen several on there side.I took one look and said nope. My luck it would turn it over with one tire on top of pea gravel.
One thing about the frameless, the tail end settles to the ground, as you raise it. With a Frame trailer, your around 4', off the ground, before you start raising the bed. But the Frame, "feels" like it gives more stability. But then there's the height difference. There's a lot of Butt's!I have 2 Mac trailers that I haul with, neither is a frameless, been doing it for years but some loads dumping will make the ol ballon knot pucker up

Only difference with an 18 speed, just more Lows, to play with! They are more for Heavy Hauler trucks. But I agree, like having that little button you just Flip, between direct rived & overdrive. About 300-400 rpm difference.Man you have the perfect combo in that western star, my favorite transmission is a 13 speed
