Small victories.

Water froze. Not on the coldest night either. Reason....critter opened a vent right next to the bathroom with plumbing ran along the same wall.
Thawed and lucky no burst pipes. The ice somehow finished off the worn seats in ancient American Standard plumbing fixtures.

Lucky the local box store had some kits. Went to the less used local mom and pop and found out why they are gonna go under. What they had was in 70's packages and none of it fit.

Started to worry when the extractor had to come out twice.
 
We started watching Alone (wilderness survival competition show) a couple weeks ago and the kids were more into it than I expected. This afternoon I asked them if they wanted to build an “Alone shelter” and they said “yeah!” We struck out with 2 shovels, 2 saws, and an axe. I let them pick the spot with minimal guidance and here’s where we ended up.

Awesome. My boys love alone too. My oldest is all about cooking over a fire these days. Specifically, in our fireplace 🤣
