Matthew took down a wild cherry tree on my property and me and the family worked it up for smoking wood!!
I started cleaning up a property fence line that hasn't been maintained in probably ten years. Cut a couple wild cherries today. So they make that good of wood for smoking? I got several more.

I read about using it on some of the smoking forums and it was all positive. I took one piece and cut it in approximately 1" thick circles and laid them out in the shop to dry out. Then let kiddo chop them up with her hatchet and they smoked great. It has a really sweet smoke, like a cherry blend tobacco smell.
