I love Florida. I could live the rest of my life in shorts and flip flops and throw every jacket I own away. My wife has family in Ponce Inlet south of Daytona. We usually spend a couple of weeks there in the summer. It’s like living in a Jimmy Buffet song. Everybody is on island time. If I ever go missing that’s a good place to start looking.

I used to wear out 3 a year. 3 at like twenty bucks or more a piece. Usually the first 18 inches the numbers would get so worn they were useless.........if they didn't kink or the spring get useless. I stopped trying to buy the best after a few years.

Tried all types, widths, and ALL of them are either to flimsy, two awful wide, or have more gadgets then a Ford.

A 3/4 wide 16 footer by Lufkin seemed to be the sweet spot, with a 25 footer in the tool box for the bigger stuff.

Another product engineered to replace.

Have you tried a Stabila tape? I borrowed one from a guy that had a few of their bubble levels (which are awesome), and still don't know why I haven't bought one or two for myself. Scale printed on both sides of the blade, blade return bumper, a couple of other little things that improve function but aren't gimmicky. Still less than $20.

You can have it, it’s just not my thing.

Go down in August and tell me your thoughts then...
The end of July/August is our vacation time frame. If I’m outside I’m doing something in or around the water so I don’t mind it. I grew up surfing so that’s what I do with 90% of my time there. I still don’t mind being out in it. I’d pay the price to live on the island.

I have no idea what a "cold start video" is, but that pic is hilarious.

Follow a cummins page on social media for about 15 minutes and you'll be sure to see one. Between those and the "OMG what is wrong with my truck why are my lights surging?!? And my volt gauge keeps going up and down when its cold?" posts.

Saw my first gas powered 'cold start video' yesterday too. Sad thing is, they didn't get it when I said 'cool, your choke and battery work'.

Wow, I had no idea this "cold start video" thing was a thing.
I mean, yeah it's informative to know it's hard to start stuff when they're cold... but... so what?

[grumpy man voice] Kids these days, bahhh. [/grumpy man voice]

I thought it might be some kinda gay InstaSnapFace thing that the hipsters are doing. I guess it kinda is.

As for cold start, why not plug your desiel in for about 2 hrs and not put the stress on your vehicle? Seems like a dumb way to be cool.

Agree. I don't get it anyway. I turned my 24v on for 2-3min to let the grid heater warm up, turned the key. It chugged for a sec and ran like normal. This was after sitting for 2 weeks.
