I have a hard time bringing myself to buy furniture for a rental house that we’ll be in for a year +/-. So when a large heavy duty pallet shows up at work made of red oak and poplar and you have a wood shop…

Been busy with work & house projects and haven't posted in a while....small photo dump:

Went to an estate auction and bought a Rokon Trail Breaker. If you've never heard of these things, it is a 2WD/AWD chain driven mini bike that tops out 3rd gear at 30-35mph.
In 1st gear this thing will climb up telephone poles and rides up stairs with ease! Now I've got to build a hitch for the 1.25" receiver for a lawn trailer to do deer recovery, food plot stuff and other general redneck-ery.


Borrowed a skid steer & cleaned up around my grandpa's shop to put down gravel and build a lean-to. Then I priced gravel and now I'm waiting on a local tree trimmers to bring me all the free mulch.


Moved the crawler for the first time in 7+ years to get it closer to the future lean-to and out of the edge of the woods...unfortunately not under its own power.


Been keeping an eye out for something to replace the 30+ year old telephone pole & security light in the back yard since it was rotting around the base (some places as much as 2") and found a parking lot pole at the local scrap yard.
Out with the old - Mocked up the new -

The pole was buried 5' so that should be a good foundation for a 15' pole!
