I took my truck to the grocery store on Sunday. Remember...it was SOOO nice out...so I definitely had all my windows open. Haven't driven the truck since. I walked out to vehicles this morning to go to work and noticed all the frost on my windows. This made "odd" things more noticable. As I'm walking towards my car, which is right next to my truck, I can see that my rear sliding window is open...DOH!!! So I run back up to my apartment to get my truck keys. When I get into the truck, looks like everything is fine...so it's not a break in...just my open stupidity of forgetting to close that one window.

So I climb into my truck and reach back to grab the latch to slide the window closed...SNAP...the d*** thing comes clean off the window. So now I'm cussing out the rear slider...feels really great to yell at inanimate object, you should give it a try sometime.

I do some reasearch on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts (FTE) forums to see how many people have this same sort of issue...turns out most of them have had to replace the whole window from shattered windows. Glad I don't have to deal with that. I get to go to AutoZone and pic some window glue. I've use that stuff before for the rearview on my old truck, but I'm concerned abot how it will hold up for the latch since I'd be putting pressure on it to open and close the window.

Only time shall tell I guess. Lemme know if ya'll have other ideas.

Ok I'm done ranting...for now...lol

I had the same thing happen to me on an S10. I used the window glue and it held for several months. It's something you'll just have to keep reapplying. Be sure to use a solvent each time you reapply to get the old glue off the window and the latch.
