range rover axles

just had a 4door rover of 90's vintage come in. the axles look to be a high pinion toyota variant. the rear is a disc brake setup. i thought these might make a cool set up under a street driven fj since they are already set up with coils and i have the d90 style wheels also.

anyone know much about these axles? i need to decide whether or not to cut them out. thanks
 
take a magnet out there, are they aluminum like the discovery axles? and does the rear have an offset diff?

strength wise (especially if aluminum housing) i dont think they are good for much more than 31s.

I personally wouldnt waste my time doing it. but if your going for uniqueness, i suppose thats one way to go.

Aluminum? The housings:confused:
Stock they are junk, and not much better with HD shaft/R+P.
With some slight modification you can use a FJ80 third and longfields in the front, and a V6 third will fit in the rear. I guess it depends on what you want to do with them($).

He's not really looking for anything, this thing is going to get scrapped if the axles aren't worth anything.

Or maybe he could swap these under the buggy and throw the 47spl rocks in the scrap pile:flipoff2: I'd be there in a heartbeat to clean that mess up:lol:
 
i have plenty of other axles. this thing came in for scrap and i kinda liked the wheels. when we picked it up to get the fluids out i noticed the axles and was thinking that the coil susp. would be an easy swap with a nice ride under a dd fj.



josh...i am hatin the brakes on the rockwells...i'll let you know after i torch them out. they should pay around 200 bucks scrap wt.:fuck-you:
