Let's start a rant thread since it's pretty regular someone wants to rant about something.... I'll start

After Christmas my wife got very sick. Docs couldn't figure it out after several visits. Got bad enough to go to emergency room during snow storm last month. They kept her over the weekend, said he BP meds were effecting her sodium & patasium levels. Got her back good but only for 3 days, back to square 1. Many doctors later we discover it's her gallbladder. All the while we have 2 kids I have to do EVERYTHING for cause she's feeling so bad. So still waiting for her removal surgery to be scheduled.
This past weekend, she starts feeling good enough to go to work, which is great cause she is a CPA and its tax season. She is expected to work X amount and do X amount. She has missed a TON of work this year.
So she tries to go back Monday morning and the radiator takes a dump in her car, I get it home after multiple stops to top it off with water. Called oriellys, $171 for the radiator in stock. Great, no biggy I'll take the rest of the day and work from home and fix it. Look online though, it's only $70 shipped from carparts.com. I can drive my jeep a few days to save $100. Which worked out cause the sitters kid got the FLU and my wife had to miss yet another week of work! Put radiator in Wednesday, still overheating, chase air bubbles, still overheating Thursday, too busy yesterday, change thermostat today. THEN I BROKE THE DANG THERMOSTAT HOUSING PUTTING IN TODAY!!

Lately I can't win and life is kicking me in the teeth every time I turn around. But it's gonna be ok. These are the struggles that define us and I still know God is good. Just wanted to blow off a little steam. I know someone else is going thru some junk, rant on...

Cooked some burgers on the grill today. Got the buns toasted then put on the onions, tomatoes, mustard mayonnaise and A1. Didn't let the meat cool enough before I bit into it and immediately burned the crap out of my tongue! Got mayonnaise all over my mustache and spilled the Icehouse all over my jeans. FML. :shaking:

I can definitely relate. It seems that the enemy hits you where you live. He places the doubt when it comes to your physical health, which is tied to your financial health, which is made possible by your vehicle's "health". One relies heavily on each other and he will throw fiery darts at everything hoping to hit a chink in the armor. Stay strong. This too shall pass. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

#firstworldproblems

Well, not the icehouse part. That's not very first world. I didn't know that beer was still around..

okay,I'll play...
Driving my dad's Nissan frontier friday morning to work and lost a cylinder. Got to the shop and found I blew out the side of a plug boot and the spark was going to the head. it's a 99 with a 3.3 v6. Went by my local parts store, picked up new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. The plan was to change the parts quickly and then hit the road to go out of town...
My grandfather hated them slant eyed yellow bastards and fought them everyday till he passed away in 2005. First Marine Division...you know what they did.
We kicked them fuckers in the nuts from early 42 till the signing in Sept.45 and if you ask me they need a refresher. Who the hell puts a spark plug at the back of a head next to the fire wall where you can't see it nor feel it unless you got dainty little girly hands. Fuckers!
I got it done but what the hell.Love my flathead more and more everyday.

I feel your pain Sarge, but it's Not just Them! I bought new, in 83, a Buick Skylark T-Type, with the front wheel drive 2.8 GM V6. All the cross mount fwd cars are the Worst! At 50k, it started skipping. Like you say, I couldn't get to the three back plugs. A shop got it on the lift, & changed them out, only to find out the plug wires were Baked, from sitting against the firewall & header!

Hurt my back at work a few months ago... Situation started off decent, about as you would expect for workers comp. I thought they were handling things well. Took 2 months to get an MRI... I was concerned. Find out I have 2 herniated discs putting pressure on my sciatic, which has been causing me a ton of pain. I've been on light duty at work for months, which they have been cool about, but its obvious they are not thrilled about it. After a month going by, I return to the doctor again and he says "How has physical therapy been going"
I look at him dumbfounded, and say I haven't started any, and haven't heard from Workers Comp in a month. That was enough motivation for me to contact an attorney. Hopefully things improve soon but I have had a rough few months.
Add into that, unable to work overtime because I am on light duty, so I am making less money which has really been hitting home lately.
Have been expecting some money from an estate for several months, unfortunately there is now a legal battle taking place which the bank handling the estate has hired attorneys... with our (people apart of the estate) money. So that's pretty upsetting since the legal issue is theirs, they screwed up with the estate, they should be paying their own legal fees.
But I've got all this white privilege so I guess you could say I have that going for me.

That sucks. I have never had to deal with workers comp luckily. But I've seen some people with legit issues get drug thru the mud.

I'm tired of trying to pay people to do jobs. They act like they don't want your business or they try to hose you. I went around to 3 different tire shops before I ended up, ordering them from 4wd. The first local store wanted to sell me a cheaper set of 4 tires for what I could buy 5 for In wilmington or raliegh. Next place I went had decent prices but refused to mount 15 inch wheels on my jeep. The last place told me just to order the tires from eBay or Amazon and have them mounted at their shop. I had no problem ordering a set of mounted and balanced tires and wheels and bolting them up. I just don't understand lately I try to give people work its just like they don't want it. I also went to a show other day seen a boat I was interested in buying, I walk up to the sales rep and the dude walks off and leaves, wtf?

I walked in a small gun store near the house the other day to pick up a rear site for my AR. Pulled it off the rack and went to the counter. Both employees were helping other people and that is understood. Owner finishes with the guy he is helping and walks in the back. When he comes back out, a guy he knows walks through the door and he completely ignores me to get the other guy what he had ordered.:fuck-you: I walked right back to the rack, put the sight on it and walked out the door. Guess he just lost a customer. Funny thing is that i was just in there the other day looking at a pistol and planned on buying it there.

I just drove 2 hours and 15 mins to Greenville to pickup 13 chisel plow u bolts, when I got their nobody could even find the one that they had, I tell ya what. Mads not the word.

I sat thru 6 hours of a corporate sales meeting today. Feel like my brain was fried about 2 hours in.

On another rant...

I hate that my XJ climate control only has floor, or vent option without the AC on and not a combo. Turning it to combo turns the compressor on, which is not a huge deal, but unnecessary. I thought I read somewhere it had a temp sensor that would tell it if it should be on or not, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Pull the fuse for the compressor in the winter. I always did that on my ZJ and TJ. Hasn't been necessary on the JK.

This should speak volume :kaioken:

I also really need to take a dump but there's no gas station or large wooded area for a few miles.

That feeling you get when you only have 12k miles on your ride and they call and tell you they have it tore down and putting in new rocker arms and lifters. Oh and then there's that ride Saturday, don't think I want take a loaner jeep to the trail

I wheeled the shit out of a bone stock JKU rental a few years ago while working in Hawaii at the sandbox offroad park. Enterprise was not very happy but oh well.

Rental companies are in the business of letting people who don't give a fawk drive a vehicle ar a competetive rate. The odds must play out in their favor with most of the customers playing nice. I for one enjoy the neutral drop and making an auto tranny earn it's beans while looking for lower gear. And don't get me started on lever actuated parking brakes, they are the bomb!

he spoke up and said "hell yea we want insurance... this thing is going to see more air time than one of our airplanes!!!!"

i almost shit myself i was laughing so hard...

the girl behind the counter was less than amused!
