I noticed that the rates were increase next year to 7 a day and 45 a year and then in 2014 going to 10 and 60 a year. Im not opposed to the hike but what added value will we get?

how about you still have a place to ride ?

I'm surprised the rate hasn't gone up before now. $10 for a day is still a deal, consider the alternative......

Don't they have the break down in percentages of where it goes to. And yes still cheap to have a place to ride.

:shaking: I cant believe anyone would complain about this and expect some great ADDED value. You spend THOUSANDS in mods for your rig but complaining about $60 for a 9 months of riding? :shaking:

Now could you goto ANY private land for that same cost? HELL NO

lemme see, the rate has been $5 for what 4 years now? was $3 previous

in that time funds have been cut, fuel prices have gone up and down and up again, material prices have gotten stupid, let alone the damage done by ignorant users has increased..... nah, there is no need for an increase.

and $30 for the whole state of California, excellent, you should go ride there !!!

I agree.....BUT
In California, $30 gets you a yearly pass to ride at EVERY OHV area in the state!!!
Just saying.
Rob

um, ok.
so i tell you what.
You can choose to live in CA and get a better deal on stickers - but pay 3x asmuch for a house, gas, and taxes.
Or you can live in NC.

Its been over due for a while, they have been talking about a rate increase for a while. $5 a day and $30 a year has been fairly cheap all things considered. With the amount of increased usage of the OHV Trail System in the last couple years I am surprised it didn't go up sooner. Keep in mind 80 percent of the fees go directly back into keeping our trails open etc.

Longer than that, theyve been $5 a day as long as Ive been riding there, and my first time was 03 or 04

Being the penny pinching ass I am, I hate to see it go up, but its still cheap for a place to ride. And from the sounds of it, with Tellico closed a lot of work will be needed and done to Uwharrie.

I dont see it as a rate hike, its more of an inflation in price, and really i have no problem paying 10 per visit or even 60 per year. And i have this outlook only after my first visit to UNF.

if a yearly pass was $100 id pay it, im so thankful to have a place to ride when right now so many places are shutting down.
besides, we got all these jerk offs that ride around throwing beer cans out on the trail which pisses me off to no end!! somone has to clean it up, and volunteers do alot of it but there is still alot to maintaing the trails. i love URE and want to raise my family in offroading. i would hate URE to end up like Tellico one day.
its been cheap long enough, ive been expecting it.

The funding for the improvements to Group Camp, more showers and flush toilets, is coming directly from user fees.

This....

I wasn't complaining just asking a general question. Im glad to see improvements and i figured there were tasks slated. 60 is still good for me

What's with all the hatin' on Cali? I don't think anyone said anything about liking Cali better than NC... and we like having Rob around just fine. ;) Although he certainly has done his fair share of wheelin' in CA.

Besides, Cali has land use concerns, too... the Marines want to take some or most of Johnson Valley and I dunno how things are going up on the Rubicon.

just wondering is that Cali land State or Federal?
And wouldn't the Feds have to agree to a $30 every trail in state fee.... makes me think its for the state land.

Anyhow. I've been paying for a yearly pass for 3 years now and not mad about any hike. I say get some flush toilets in places where needed. Tired of seeing maggots in the tanks and havin to leave the door open when droppin a deuce. Plus maybe we can get Terry some Air Conditioning.

If you think about it, some of us have taken advantage of the fee, I ride prolly more times than I got fingers and toes all season. So 20 x 5 daily = 100 dollars and I'm gettin away with only payin 30 bucks or so.

I am glad to hear it....I havent ridden URE in 3 years, but I have bought year passes each of those yearas just to support it...

I am not hating on the price hike, just adding that at other places its the same fee for ALL the OHV areas.

I have bought season passes every year at URE if we ride there or not.

I dont mind the price increase at all, and from what I have been hearing, there is going to be some additional trails added.

That alone shows that the forest rangers understand that the key is "Management" not "Restriction"

And yes, I would like to retire out there!!!

Rob

The cost of gas getting out there kinda off sets it though!!

not to mention that Cali has so many smog restrictions that im sure most of our rigs would not pass and would be band. I know mine wouldnt with a 77 big block running straight pipes.:driver:
