Does anyone have experience with Carolina Machine Engines in Johnston, SC? They remanufacture short blocks, long blocks, street engines, race engines to the tune of several thousand per year and their prices seem reasonable, perhaps due to volume. BBB rates them as A+ over the last 3 years (ok, ok that does matter to me) but I would like the opinions of any of you guys who have actually done business with them. Did they do good work for you? Did they give you good service after the sale? Would you use them again? All comments, pos or neg, are helpful. Thanks!

I never done business with them, but as for BBB rating I quit looking at that after this past spring I checked on a business and htey had a A+ rating so I did business with them and then had nothing but trouble with them.

I checked the rating for the same company a month later and it was F.

My younger brother had a stock 302 rebuilt by them (since they are reasonable close to us) and it ran good. I called them before I did my 16v swap (because I didn't know what shape it was in) and they quoted me $1700 to rebuild my 16v. I about died. So I took a chance and swapped it in and hoped for the best and it runs great!

I know that really didn't help you any, lol, but they do a great bit of advertising around here and I've never heard anyone say anything bad about them. If their price is reasonable for you, they also offer warranty's so what have you got to lose?

The only experience I've had with them is over the phone. The guy I talked was so rude (and I grew up in Yankee land) that based on him I would'nt do business with them. Can't comment on their quality but they need someone else to answer the phone.
