Rav 4 brakes

Please help. I have a 97 rav4 4wd with a brake issue. When you press on the brakes the left front and right rear brakes do not engage. I have noticed that when applied the brakes engage for a split second and then back off. I know they are not working because I have had all four wheels off the ground. I know fluid is coming from the line when I loosen it from the caliper. When bleeding though fluid does not come out like on the other side. Please help me with any ideas. Thanks.

Some cars use an X pattern in the dual-circuit brakes, rather than a front-rear setup. This is supposedly to keep you from losing one end in the event of a failure. Check the proportioning valve for leaks, then look at the master cylinder. Could be that one circuit is bad.
