Hi... New to the forum (been lurking in here for awhile) Thought I would introduce myself with a question...
Have a 98 tj and am ready to mount 33's... so i am in the market for a lift (cheap) .... anyone have any experience with the RC 2.5 lift?

Thanks

What are you looking to find out about it?

You should have no issues fitting 33s with a 2.5 lift. I have heard the RC are suited for the name "Rough" but besides that there ok.

Here is a thread all about the Rough County 2.5 lift, Seems that the progressive coils have a better ride. The RC rep chimes in allot in the thread to answer questions

This should help

RC will be fine. Plenty of reviews over on jeepforum on their lifts, but if you really want to go cheap... 2'' spacers and it'll clear 33s. I run 33x10.5s w/ a 2'' bb.

I am running the RC lift, rides great with no issues. 2.5" lift on 33x10.50 and does great. Getting ready to go 4" kit and 35's

this is the lift i have in my 05 unlimited. i am running BFG 31 1050s. when i ordered my kit it was only $50 more for the rear trackbar relocation bracket and the swaybar discos. with 31s i have alot of scrubbing( with the sway bar un-hooked) if i turn the wheels when the suspension is flexed out.
all in all i would say its a good kit. the only thing i dont like is how solid the shocks are. at highway speeds i feel like im riding a hardtail chopper. i put the factory shocks back on and my jeep rode like it was on air, but it limited travel so i put the 2.2 shocks that came with the kit back on.
my advice would be to by the springs and discos and use the procomp shocks.

just my 2c. hope this helps you out.

I ran a RC 4" lift in my tj for 2 years and never had a complaint. if I were to buy another TJ I would go with RC lift without hesitation.

As for the previous posters coments about the shocks it is really a matter of opinion on ride quality of shocks and what shock you get with your kit. Not all kits come with RC top quality shock, my kit came with the Nitro 9000 and I liked them so much I just ordered a set for for my CJ with SOA lift.

Your right.
but the new 2 1/2 kit only comes in the 2.2 shock. i called them to see if they would upgrade to the nicer shock but they didnt have one short enough to work with the 2 1/2 kit. they told me this shock would ride smoother than stock, but it is by far rougher. They also have the option to buy the kit with out the shocks. If your in the area and would like to take mine for a ride you are more than welcome to, i will also have a friend of mine bring his over with the same lift but i put the 9000 series shock from pro-comp on his, and i dont shake my fillings loose when i drive his.

Thanks.... I appreciate the offer, but I went ahead and ordered the kit... I guess we will see about the ride quality.
