Question for you flooring guys.
Our foyer has stone tiles with nice wide 1/2 grout.
In removing the transition into the living room (that floor is getting replaced) I discovered one of the tiles has broken free from the cement underneath.
The surrounding grout is completely intact and the stone tile fits perfectly - you'd never know it was loose, I guess after 45 years the cement bond finally let go.

It's right at a corner of a door jamb and transition edge.

Anyway - what's the best way to fix this? i'd think if I tried to re-mortar it down it would be too high compared to the neighbors?
What about a good circle of high-strength PL construction adhesive, just glue it back down?

Liquid Nail can fix anything.

I usually wouldnt suggest any adhesive other than thinset, but since you mentioned it is at a wall, it shouldnt be a high traffic area (I assume). I think you would be fine with liquid nails or another adhesive that sets hard.

bubble gum!

Since this is the advice from the only professional flooring guy in this thread, this is what I'm going with.

I'd suggest doing it correctly even if it is a low traffic spot. Get as much of the old mortar up as possible and then grab a small repair type kit at Lowe's. They've got one that has the mortar, grout, trowel, sponge etc. Either that or just get a small tub of mortar.
