Really cool car I saw today...

Every time I see one of those stupid lifted cars I just wince in agony over what was a nice car. There is a place in Charlotte that all they do is ruin cars like that. The people that drive in and out of it drive like the accelerator is stuck to the floor. And they all have the drivers seat reclined so far they have to sit up to see out. It makes me want to run them off the road, jerk them out of their car,a nd drag them behind my suburban with a rope tied to their ankle.

That dually Caddy is pretty neat though. Different animal than the Donked foolmobiles.

LOL! What a pile!

I'd pimp that dually Caddie all day long.

lovin all the double standards going on here lol

both cars are stupid and you'd never catch me in either of them....but then again, i look at muddin people the exact same way as these and don't really see any difference between the mindset of either.

but this isnt ncFWD.com.....:flipoff2:

round the corner from my house is this little rim store. they turn these cars out! every week there are new POS's out front.

This one was the tallest ive seen. put a t-case, front drive shaft, and mud tires on it might have a nice rig for the trails.

Everytime you see one of those stupid lifted cars just think, thats our tax dollars at work. The welfare checks that payed for that crap could have went to a family that would use it. On a side note the caddy is ok but I really shed a tear knowing a chevy dually suffered a fate like that.

Debbie Downer Perspective on the Donks:

These cars could ruin it for the lifted anything market because they are mostly poorly thought out and constructed. Lifted 4 wheel drives (manufactured aftermarket lifts) are generally more thought out and engineered to be much safer. When enough insurance claims are made on these cars because of catastrophies, bumper height laws and stiffer restrictions will go in affect. Hurting all parties desiring to modify their ride height. And even if they don't carry insurance somebody has to payout. So the consensus might vote to outlaw all of it.

Just a thought.

Very well put and exactly right.

There was a similar Cadillac parked at the apartments near Catawba College, had 24" wheels or so jacked up like that for a while, then I drove past one day and it was seriously sitting on black steel 15" soft 8s and 32" or so BFG All Terrains. This was before I was cool enough to own a camera phone :o

So to make up for it, here is this Caprice on swampers

According to NC general statute 20-135.4-d, they are absolutely illegal
20-135.4-d said:
(d) The manufacturer's specified height of any passenger motor vehicle shall not be elevated or lowered, either in front or back, more than six inches by modification, alteration, or change of the physical structure of said vehicle without prior written approval of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.
It is illegal to change vehicle height by more of 6", meaning, if they have a 5" lift, and the tire size changes by 4" thus raising the car an additional 2", they are over the legal limit and not deemed road worthy.
But section a saves us
20-135.4-a said:
(a) Definitions. – For the purposes of this section, the term "private passenger automobile" shall mean a four‑wheeled motor vehicle designed principally for carrying passengers, for use on public roads and highways, except a multipurpose passenger vehicle which is constructed either on a truck chassis or with special features for occasional off‑road operation.
As our vehicles are either on a truck chassis (trucks, jeeps, etc) or "special feature for offroad operation" XJ's etc unibody's that are not on truck chassis.

But you're saying you don't feel safe on the road beside this?

I've known the statute and have read and understand all of the legal language that excludes our type of modifications. However the insurance regulators and those related burocrats could give two shits on how the law is inturpreted. For that matter the general uneducated public views anything with a headlight in the rear view mirror as a nuissance, four wheel drive or not. And as soon as enough funds are funneled this way and that costing the people (regulators ie: gov't policy and insurance) who run this country enough money we will be lumped together for an all enclusive butt fest. Our system will not research or stop to think in a logical approach. They will do as they generally do and squash the problem with a vast sweeping legislative motion.

And why doesn't our local men in blue do anything about them now. They to must not be entirely educated on the statute.

You'll have to forgive me I was driving by myself and was in shock and all.

did this guy write his last name on the side of his car?? or is that something else?? i have driven by this a few times, speechless
Ingram Motorsports, it's a shop that specializes in cars like that in Gboro. They opened another shop around here not far from Salisbury, you may have saw it on the news, one of the employees lured an elderly couple from out towards Hickory there, to "buy" their car, he murdered them both, put their bodies inside the shop and stole the car.:shaking:

I Have seen that first one before!!! I saw it once and couldn't explain it to anyone they had no idea what i was talking about when i said it looked like a corolla with an extra trunk/bed.

I saw it in durham at least 4 years ago Very ghetto but unique none the less

One of the coolest rides I have seen along this line was a mid 70's caddy on a Chevy truck frame. Still run the caddy engine, but rest of the drive train was Chevy. Almost not noticeable, except for the lift needed to clear it all. Was an older guy, 65 plus, said he had it built so he could get to his property, but didn't want to give up the comfort of his caddy

I should have taken a profile shot to properly show the drivetrain geometry...

I need to take a ride by where all de ridz get de dubs n sheeet for what run on dem...

:gay: that's some ugly:poop: right there I bet that thing has some hardcore body roll. On the matter of Donks these are all over Florida its one of the ugliest.car trends I've seen. In gainesville the new trend is new Chevy trucks with huge lifts 30 inch wheels and:fuck-you: bright ass paint. Not excluding the numerous mall crawlers
