Rear axle turns while driving...

Ive got a 85 k5 Blazer and I have noticed that the rear axle is turning while I drive the truck. its a 3/4 ton axle and the U-Bolts are tight. I can tell it turns because the angle of the driveshaft keeps changing where it enters the rear differential. Can I just weld a bar from the frame to the axle with a tac weld so I can hammer it off if needed or will that not be strong enough? Thanks for the help.

It sounds more like axle wrap. Your bar idea won't work, no matter what the problem is. It doesn't account for the axle moving as the suspension cycles.

The bar will not work. It will not let the axle move at all and it needs to move some. Sounds like axle wrap. Is it lifted or anyting like that? I think a traction bar may help but I have never actually had to fight axle wrap myself (so I could be wrong).

Traction bar = axle wrap control bar = anti-wrap bar

Welcome to the wide world of leaf springs... There's a few different methods that can work.. Let us know what you find doing research on the above terms, and we'll go from there. ;)

The truck has a 6'' suspension lift with blocks in the rear and a 4'' body lift which Im problly going to remove since I just bought the truck and Id kinda like to keep the body from sliding off the frame. I was start looking for info on those products, Rich. Thanks all for the advice.

EXACTLY!!!

Even with my limited knowledge I've come to realize blocks are meant for posing only, and are potential slingshot weaponry on the trail

Sky shackle ( or fab it) or lifted springs will solve some of it. Fine line tradeoff between flex and spring wrap.

I have a Z71 and used to have the same problem you described above, these guys are all right it's simply axle wrap. What I did was the http://www.offroaddesign.com 4" shackle flip which is pretty easy and strait forward, the only anoying part is getting the factory rivets out of the frame, then I installed some 2" blocks to match the front ends 6" of lift. Then for two reasons I installed an add a leaf as well. One is that it helped stiffen up the leaf pack and two was that I like to have a little bit of a Rake in a truck (ie: the rear sits a little higher). If you decide to go the shackle flip route here's a link to a writeup I did a while ago on installing the Shackle flip and 2" Block, like I said pretty easy and strait forward. http://homepage.mac.com/darketernal/ShackleFlip.html

Oh and if you want to go the traction/Ladderbar route then some places that have them are Superlift, Fabritech, and L&L Products, I think L&L has the lowest prices.

Wow, you're a piece of work.

Shackle flips lower the roll center and increase anti-squat, FWIW. That's not a terrible thing, but it's certainly a trade-off to consider.
