Rear mounted radiator question

I have a samurai that has been changed to a full toyota drivetrain. Right now, I plan on running the radiator in the rear. I have a saginaw steering box that won't allow the radiator to sit between the frame rails, hince the rear mount.

For the guys with buggies, trucks, etc with rear radiators.....How did you run your lines to the engine. What materials did you use?

I don't have a lot of extra room underneath the rig because everything pretty tight. I was thinking about running the lines in the cab, but am worried about the excess heat.

Any thoughts? Ideas?
 
I'm doing mine now too. I plan on just using steel pipe to run the length of the vehicle with radiator hoses connecting the ends to the engine/radiator.
 
Even the hot water rated CPVC I found was right at 200 degrees. But I've heard of it holding up for boilers. If you do plastic, I'd recommend encasing it. Wouldn't take much on a brittle cold morning for it to slap just right somehow and shatter.
I'd be tempted in checking with above mentioned on Flex hose but last I checked with Summit Racing, it would have cost nearly 4 limes what my galvanized cost! I think around $400 if I remember right for 22 feet.
I bought a threader on Ebay and plan on selling when I'm done. Bought for price of renting one for 2 weekends.
 
i used real steel pipe and tied into my cage/ frame. used the universal radiator hoses at engine and radiator's end. think it was 1 1/2 so rubber would slip over it.. when you put antifreeze in, it has a rust prevention additive in it. dont leave any high places in your lines, or youll get a air pocket thats a pain to get out.
 
Check with Alliance Hose and Tube. He gave me a very reasonable price. I am still exploring options, but haven't had much time to work on it this week. I'll decide for sure this weekend what I am going to do.

IF need be use some steel tubing for under the truck and the flex for the rest. Gives you a good feeling that it wont get busted or pinched on the rocks and the flex is easy to run the rest of the way.

I have a 4.3 and the hoses are different top and bottom. I used 1.75" .120 for the main rails and it worked on the bottom hoses. For thr top I used so 1.5" and slid it into the 1.75" so the hoses would fit.

Getting all the air out is the hard part.
