I have an 85 4runner that I am getting ready to put rear springs up front. For now I will leave the steering stock(no hysteer or anything). From what I have read it will move the axle forward which is what I want. What I havent seen anyone mention is what to do with the torque rod(?) that comes off front of axle. I understand it is supposed to eliminate pulling when braking(correct me if I'm wrong) so if the axle is moved forward it obviously cant be reinstalled. How bad is that going to affect me and what should I do to correct the problem, or am I a complete idiot and missing something so simple. If so let the jokes begin. Any information would be great. Thanx

Springs

My all-pro three inch springs, also move the axle foward. So i have no torqe arm, and although i have a bit of axle rap, i don't really have issues while braking. I would not worry to much

I had rears up front-they move your axle forward 2" and you will need Histeer. They flex like crazy! Mine were rears combined with Wagoneer springs-tons of flex. I have a set if you know someone that's interested $100 pair plus you pay shipping.

When I first swapped my springs, I could not turn to the stops to the right(I think it was to the right) You will need to either flip the ball on your j-arm or go with crossover steering.

It sounds like crossover steering is in my future. I know allpro makes a high steer crossover, but isnt their another way to do it?(looking for the budjet friendly crossover) It seems like I recall reading somewhere you could use parts found at the local pull-a-part that would make crossover but not highsteer. Any ideas or do I need to suck it up and by allpro?

Not on a Toy, but I'm running 3" Downey rears + AAL SOA on the front of my Jeep. The offset pin was almost a direct fit for the OEM front leafs. Compared to the 30 y/o & highly "sprung" junk I had, they flex GREAT! Couldn't be happier...

springs

I Put high steer on the same time i did the springs so i never ran into these problems there are alot of companys that sell the kits so you might be able to get it cheaper than allpro, the high steer is worth every penny, you'll be glad you did it.

I don't remember everything involved, but you can take the ball out of the j-arm and flip it to the other side and weld it into place. It would be best to have a spare incase you break one. If you do a search on Pirate you will find lots of info.

I hate to sound like an acronym idiot(even though I am) but Downey I know, but AAL + SOA?
