I just finished rebuilding my 2000 TJ's 4.0L. Complete rebuild, bored .030. Everything is back in the Jeep but I can't get it to fire up. It turns over but won't fire. Now comes the fun part of eliminating all the possiblities. Here is what I've done so far:

All sensors/plugs are hooked up correctly.
Fuel rail is pressurized, so it's getting fuel
Battery is weak but will turn it over 5-6 before dying - plan to get a new battery today.

Could the timing be off? It's a distributorless ingnition, so is there some type of reset function?

2 most important -did u plug the cps back up on the bellhousing? did u remove the cam position sensor (the little thing that goes in place of the distributer) if so did u time it back correctly? if u think that may be the case pm me your # and ill walk u thru it .

The CPS is plugged in correctly but I did NOT time the cam the position sensor, I just reinstalled it. I sent you a PM with my number.
Thanks

novacaayne75,
thanks for the help, that took care of it. I lined the balancer up with the timing mark on the cover and set the crank sensor and she fire right up.
