recentering humvee rims

if i have chevy 8 lug axles, why would i have to recenter humvee rims? not enough back space? too much back space?

i know there are probaly a billion threads on this but i can't find any that answer this question

Too much. They have around 7 inches of back space. You can look at my profile and see the recentered h1's on my truck. Thinking about selling them also.
