recomendations for video editing software

i need to put a few .mov clips together to form a video, don't need to do much fancy with it, maybe some fades between scenes and add some music here and there. Is there any software that can do this for a pc? If it was mac i know it would be easy, but what about pc?

windows movie maker... last time I checked it was free

adobe premier pro -- $500 bux tho
Open Movie Editor -- But it's only on linux. So you'd have to upgrade the OS to Ubuntu.
