So I used to read a lot when I was younger. Books like The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Odyssey, and The Divine Comedy. I recently read a book titled "The Power of a Positive Team" by Jon Gordon. It was a really easy, informative read and talks a lot about "Energy Vampires" and how to work well with your team. Although the book was a bit repetitive, it actually made me think and 2 weeks later, I am still thinking about it and using material from the book in my everyday life.

So I am looking for another good read...nothing as deep as the books mentioned above, just something that I can walk away from and learn something.

Big Jon Gordon fan here as well.

If you like light read and motivation try grant cardone 10x

Turn the Ship Around.
Written by a retired Navy Submarine Captain. The big idea is to turn followers into leaders. That way you have everyone actively engaged and thinking about a problem or issue versus everyone just waiting on the captain or manager to tell them what to do.

When I was flying all the time, I'd pick up Tucker Max or Jim Gaffigan books...could usually knock those out in a round trip cross country flight.

This book is good AND easy!!!

I’ll have to find the books when I get home. There is an author that teaches at WCU all his books are based in wnc, one of the few books I would pick up and read because I wanted to

And he's so good I don't remember his name!

I’m not going to lie. I have never read a book cover to cover in my life. I would just scan through and write my report and always made a good grade. I’d rather take a kick to the nuts than read a book. Guess that’s my A.D.D. or something.

Not easy reads entirely but one of my favorites... Stephen king The dark half and The Stand, john Grisham’s runaway jury. Thom shea’s Unbreakable and Eric Blehms Fearless! I’ve got tons more if any of those interest ya... I’m a Stephen king fan since 9 yrs old! On a easy reading that’s kickass I read in middle school which was above that lvl was called Brian’s winter by Gary Paulsen I think was the author

I read a lot of outdoor related stuff, and books about epic trips...climbing, etc.

One I particularly enjoyed recently was The Last Season (Eric Blehm). It is about the search for a nps ranger missing in the high sierras, and the search for him.

Currently reading "J.D." about nascar driver JD McDuffie, just about the last independent, shoestring drivers. He was from here in Sanford. Killed at Watkins Glen in 1991.

(For those into old school racing, we had another, earlier driver here too....Herb Thomas. Lived right up the street from us.)

At Night She Cries While He Rides His Steed

And

When Darkness Falls, He Doesnt Catch It

Both by Ross Patterson, a Wilmington local. Absolutely mind numbing aggressive fiction/comedy.

Not just motivation books. Also love Norse Mythology and Medieval stuff, if anyone on here is into that

a little bit hard to read and follow...not his most popular.

The Game of Thrones books are pretty quick. Martin is no Tolkien, but they're fun.

Lighter fare is The Wings of Fire series by Tui Sutherland. They are 'young adult' fiction that I read because my 6-yo was interested (she's 7 now and has also read The Hobbit) because I wanted to make sure they were ok for her... I totally stayed up past my bedtime reading them and then read them to both her and our 5-yo son.

I love to read.....my wife hates it. It is my night time thing sadly replaced by technology and dare I say NC4x4.

I get it honest from my mother. She has killed a few electric library contraptions, gets e-books like caffeine. Before tech she bought and read all of them. Her formal living room is the size of some small garages. One wall is a built in floor to ceiling of books. All alphabetical order by author too! Hmm some ocd may have come from that direction as well.
