Hey!
My mom’s 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan has 207k on it. Still in great shape, just had the timing belt done. But now it looks like the trans is suddenly going out. :(
I have a very reliable Honda mechanic in Durham, but they have been getting more expensive the last few years. They say $5500-$6000 for a rebuilt trans and install, with 2yr/24k warranty. That is way higher than I expected.
I’m going to start calling around for second opinions.
Does anyone know if that’s generally the price range this is running now? I wasn’t aware that rebuilding the trans had gotten so expensive.
And does anyone recommend a trans shop for work like this, anywhere between Winston and Raleigh?
Thanks!

most shops will no build due to case issues. Call honda and price a crate, maybe cheaper!

I just checked with the Honda dealer - $5250 for the trans itself. :( And $1600 if I want them to install it.

Maybe give these guys a call. They just did the AC work in my Accord. Pretty sure all they do is Hondas & they're in Thomasville.

There's also these guys in Greensboro
