If anyone like red drum fishing, South Core Banks is where its at :D

Spent last few days out there and had a blast! Caught quite a few keepers and some that were even over the slot limit. Flounder are pretty aggressive too! Hitting Yozuri plugs at the surface!

I'm assuming we are dining on fish Thursday?!?!?!

Bring some donw, dont freeze 'em Ill bring the grill...

I would love to go catch some drum but hopefully i am going tuna fishing saturday. I think my dad is heading down to hatteras this week to go catch some drum.

Have you ever been tuna fishing before, If not your in for some fun, I went and it was one of best fishing trips I have had. We went in the fall a few years back and its fun as hell fighting them in. I was amazed at how powerful a tuna is. Just sucks if there not biting.

Never been tuna fishing. Caught Dolphin, King mackeral, tarpon, red drum, Rock fish, but never tuna. It is going to suck if they are not biting that 30-50 mile ride would have been for nothing

We trolled the gulf stream and with top water artificial bait, looked like huge squid, Out riggers on both sides and a "kite rig" behind the boat. It was great to get straped in the chair and fight it for 45 mins or so, The ones we caught were an avg of 90 - 100 pound fish.

i went big eye fishing over christmas break an it freakin sucked! it was cold as balls and all kinds of choppy. the payout would have made it all worth it tho if we could have hooked up on one tho!

dangit, should have called. That means they should be heavy in Hatteras in 1-2 weeks.

well, they wern't heavy there yet, kind of spotty. But, I was with some guys that were very seasoned drum fishermen, so they knew exactly where they were :D

I'd say in a few weeks they will be so thick at Lookout any idiot would be able to find some drum up there

I went looking for the elusive red drum a couple weeks ago and I can tell you there were none eating in the Haystacks at Morehead, and back sound was about the same story. Did get to play with a few sharks and take the little bay boat about 4-5 miles offshore, but flat ocean is no good with nothing worth eating wanting to bite. Gonna give it the old college try again this weekend.
