Reel drag

I have a reel of weed wacker cord. I want to find a way to create drag on the line so it doesn't just pull out freely. Hopefully with some adjustment. How can I make this happen. Google just brings me fishing reels.

If it's got a through bolt tighten it. If it's a pin make a shim out out wood steel or beer cans

You could also add a pressure style tensioner like come-alongs or harbor freight winches have to keep spring pressure on the line so it doesn't unspool, but still dispenses easily. There's probably already a product out there like that.

Well. Those are great options. Looks like I’ll buy one of those. What about for reels of primary 12v wire?
