Hey ya'll, I'm looking to get rid of a full size refrigerator that's gone bad and is just taking up space in my garage. Isn't it true that I can just take it to part of the Land Fill over on durant road? I tried to look it up on the land fill's website but every link I tried to click on was bad. Anyone know the hours and cost if the one durant road DOES take them?

Ive found if you do alot of painting, like Car parts, model parts, anything of that sort...fridges make wonderful places to put the wet pieces.

NO floating dust in them! If you paint on a regular basis, id think about keeping it!

I just took the doors off and sat mine out on the street, city came and got it.

Older refrigerators use to have a latch to keep them closed. If you got inside one you could not open the door . There were cases of a child getting inside one sitting outside to hide and could not get out. The child suffocated. Believe it or not this happened more than once. People started taking the doors off so this would not happen. The newer doors have a magnetic seal that can be pushed open from the inside so it is no longer necessary to remove the door.

You can probably just throw it off as you are going a down a backroad in the country like everybody else does.

I personally think you should screw the door shut with some explosives inside and blow it up.

They don't in Sanford.

So.... take your refrigerator over to Rob's house and drop it in his front yard.

Problem solved.

(PM me, I'll give you directions ;) )

trespassers will be shot. :sniper:

Besides, for the cost of gas to get to my house, might as well pay the $50.

you can drop it off behind Lowe's. if anyone questions you tell them you bought a new one the day before and the sales person told you that you could drop the old one behind the store.

people do it everyday. you will probably see a lot of other appliances back there that were brought back from delivery and from other folks like yourself.

I'll help you get rid of the fridge, if you help me get this (*#(@(*@#)($)(%(*(&@% freeze plug out. :)

hehe
The one landfill will take them, you got a way to get it there?

I have the means to get rid of it, I just don't have the time to take it to the dump. I work when they're open, and i'll be on campus all next week.

If you're still in need of help tomorrow after work, I'll give you a hand. I get off at 6.
