What are the differences in titles? If a vehicle is a salvage, will it say that on the title or is it something you have to inquire about. I have never seen a salvage title that I obviously know of so I wanted this knowledge from here on out. I tried to google pictures but had no luck! Any input

It will say on the title, either flooded vehicle, salvaged title, or total loss claim on the front top right corner. I have seen all three of these before on titles and sometimes on registrations

i would inquire though, if a vehicle is totaled the insurance pays off and records the title number, so it will be a clean title until vehicle is sold and a new title is issued!!

scared to death!!!!!

It's mostly an insurance thing...you know if they don't want to pay to fix it, they'll total it and there's usually nothing you can do about it. I bought a truck that had a salvage title from a guy on here, nothing wrong with it after they fixed it when he bought it back from the insurance company!

My 97 XJ says total loss claim on the registration and title...

Same here. My title and registration both say total loss claim.

nothing wrong with it but the stigma. Insurance company didn't bat an eye to insure it. Jeep drives fine. I think mine was totaled due to hail damage on the hood and a bump in the quarter panel.

It all depends on what happened. I drive a car that I value at $3k. If it gets enough hail damage, the ins co can total it. Does that effect its drivability? Nope, purely cosmetic.
