Release Bearing Question

I asked XJsavage over on the build thread, but he may not be available for some time. I know he has storm clean up and his dad to attend to at the moment (he did the same I am doing, 4.8 clutch/flywheel on a 5.3 engine).

Here is the issue. (dont reply unless youre wearing black socks at moment you are reading this; like i am)

Here is the t/o I have now that goes with the fork that goes with this Lakewood Bh. I'll edit the post with a pic of the one in the clutch kit. Looks like I can just remove one and put on the other and use the same "housing"?

EDIT: added two pictures of the stock silverado release bearing for the 4.8. Its "housing" does not seem to mate with the fork I have. But if you look at the three other pics. These are of the release bearing that comes in the LUK clutch kit i ordered. This appears to be of the same I already have (need to replace). It appears I should be able to remove the old one and put on the new one?

Welcoming any guidance anyone has. Thanks so much.

I have the answer but my socks are white with grey reinforcements. Sorry.

I would try to use the TOB that belong with the trans/clutch fork and it will most likely work with the clutch setup you are wanting to use. The key things to look out for are the bearing ID to fit nicely on the TOB sleeve, TOB properly seated in fork, and TOB face mates properly with clutch pressure plate fingers. I havent done an AX15 to 5.3, but we did do a gen 1 small block to ax15 using the sbc flywheel/pressure plate, ax15 clutch disc and all the ax15/jeep TOB/slave parts without issue.

That's a good point. If I can't make this work with what's coming I can at least see if this old one fits the sleeve good. If it does I'll just get one of them new.

For some reason I recal these are "rebuildable". You keep the housing and just replace the bearing on it.

Somewhere in the mix I'll try and press it off
