Hi guys. I have a '79 CJ5 with factory bumperettes. I'd like to remove them and install new stainless ones (along with a stainless frame cover). 2 issues:

1 - The nuts are almost impossible for me to get to behind the frame...any suggestions?

2 - My mounting holes are 6" wide but the bumperettes are about 10" wide...do they compress that much or might I have Wrangler bumperettes...do the 2 models have different hole spacing?

Any and all advice appreciated. Thanks.

Whats up Shazam you need to post some pic's of that jeep. I'm not a fan of bumperettes but it seems like they will compress. Don't measure the space measure the length to see if they are the same. I don't think the nuts are secured to the frame which means you will have to get a wrench in behind the edges of the gas tank. I did look at the 2 extra frames I have and they both just had holes in the brace you are going to cover. Good luck
