installing new clutch, and picked up "pilot bearing puller attachment" from autozone. do i need another general puller to remove it?

i always just pack the old bearing full of grease, then using the supplied clutch alignment tool, push it into the center of the bearing with some force. the compression of the grease always pushes the old pilot bearing out, at least for me anyway.

The grease trick didn't work on my '78 F-150, every other time it did the trick. On taht truck it ended up siezed in well enough the I had to cut a slot in it with a carbide bit and collapse it in on itself to get it out.

I just used a grease gun and some electrical tape to get mine out. Put some electrical tape around the end of the grease gun so it fits tight in the pilot bushing and start pumping grease in there untill it pops out.

Just realized, none of us really answered your question, lol.
The attachment you picked up is meant to be used wit a slide hammer. Good Luck

Grease trick has always worked for me. I usually used a socket with an extension in it, hit it with a hammer after filling with grease, pops right out. Grease gun trick sounds cooler, will try that next time

tried the grease, failed.
tried the slide hammer with puller attachment, failed.
tried cursing, failed.
tried heat, then slide hammer, failed.
tried cursing again, still failed.
finally used the puller/slide hammer thingie, with a big screw driver hammered in with it pushing the edges out so they'd grip, and that worked.
Then cursed some more cause I smashed the crap out of my finger with the slide hammer while getting it out.
