I'm trying to work a deal on a truck that is unfortunately covered in maroon rhino lining. The coat looks to be installed well, I just don't like it. Even though it looks dumb, is there a good reason to keep it on? Or what I'd rather do is remove it. Is there a way to do this without destroying the body?

really depends on how well it was applied, I've seen whole beds torn off in one sheet do to poor application. Cut into the liner and try to scrape under it.

May also try acetone, lacqour thinner that should melt it, but it'll be messy.

if it's a beater, who cares what it looks like ?

Can't have the wife making fun of me!!:lol:

Dude please !!

She'll make fun of you reguardless !!! it's what wives do !!!
:flipoff2:

I've never understood why people put that crap on the outside of there vehicle. I think it looks like pure:poop:

Aerosol Paint stripped will melt thee shit, even better in direct sunlight.

Leaves a helluva mess to ddeal with though

Air plane stripper does wonders on removin that stuff, just spray it on let it sit and then take a putty knife to it. It makes a hell of a mess I suggest layin down old sheets or plastic under and around the vehicle before doin anything like that.

You think it looks bad now....wait til you get that chit scrapped off. You wife will be rolling on the floor!

When I first read the title of this thread the old "How do you get herc off of your hootus" thread from a few years ago came to mind. If you don't know what I am talking about, just google "hootus"

Me too, probably the funniest thread ever.

The linex place that used to be beside my shop used some kind of nitrogen to get it off of a bed they screwed up one time.

I was thinking sandblaster until I saw the freezing suggestion.

I think I'd investigate the freezing thing further but otherwise I think I'd be trying to sandblast it off...

I would say paint over it.... WAY too much work otherwise... Paint it white and unless you are fairly close you won't even notice the 'texture'

We used it on the rocker panels on several rigs and then painted right over it later. Looked great, looked like factory undercoating.

yea...I think that stuff looks like crap also.....You might fine a bunch of bondo and bad body work under the linner
