replace rear main seal in 92 4.0

can you replace the rear main seal in a92 cherokee 4.0 with the engine in the jeep?

Yes but you can't do it with the transmission in the Jeep.

What? the only problem I had doing one, was needing to raise the truck high enough to allow the axle to drop, giving room to drop the oil pan. It's a 2 piece seal, no need to pull the trans

Ah yes, forgot about the 2 piece seal. I'm used to the one piece. Sounds like you need a bigger lift kit.
