A question for you....

My dad is looking to purchase a used 2009 Silverado from a dealer and saw on Carfax where the lifters were replaced at 60k miles and currently has 67k miles. Would you have any concerns about the motor?

I think I remember there was a lifter noise recall around that time, so it's possible it may be a warranty replacement on the lifters because of noise. Can the dealer supply any more information about whether it was warranty work? Maybe the previous owner got rid of it because the lifter replacement didn't fix the noise...?

If you can verify the cause of the replacement, there probably is no reason to be concerned.

Do some research on GM Service Bulletin #10-06-01-007, that seems to be the one I remember. I had to poke around on Google for a few minutes.

We had a couple lifters go down in my 2010 it had around 90000 on it luckily it was covered under warranty. I poke around some then and it looked like it was a pretty common problem.
