So, after years of fighting the OE Jeep "bind-O-matic" shifter linkage (lower column> frame mounted pivot> TH-400), I converted it to cable using a few parts leftover my brothers Lokar "Universal" kit & a new cable from them.
Worked absolutely fawking MINT for 2 rides! 🤩

Unfortunately, during the Veterans Ride, it melted a 4" section of the sheathing (3" above the exhaust) 🤬 ... Slapped 79 zip-ties on it and finished the day

While I _could_ replace it with another Lokar cable, IMHO it's a total POS!
Aside from the actual cable, there's ZERO metal in them (no additional lateral/radial reinforcement) ... just a cable inside a tiny plastic tube

Looking for recommendations on another brand of cable that has additional reinforcement?
A buddy just got the Sand Hollow shifter and it came with a CableCraft cable and appears to be well constructed, but can't reach anyone at that company ☹️

Lokar says it's 72", but could likely do with 60"...

What size and lengths are the ends? I have a couple new ones i bought off here for my dana 300. Bought 4 and used 2. They have been great.
These have 1/4-28 ends and, i think, have 3" of travel. They may be too short though. The blue is 48"

My local HD truck shop carries random length push/pull cables that are the exact same as the ones Art Carr shifters utilize. Maybe that's an option?
Edit: it's a cable intended for use engaging a PTO. Our delivery trucks have them to actuate the dump bed. Pretty HD stuff

Tried to measure the threaded ends, but haven't extrapolated the decimal values to an actual threaded size 🙄 Pretty sure it's 3" of stroke/actuation though 🤔

This Lokar is magnitudes LIGHTER duty than those use sourced from NWF for my cable shifters, again just a cable inside a plastic tube...
Will do some digging Tuesday, as we have NOTHING "local" (without 45 minutes to Martinsville/Mayberry)... maybe @StretchASU or @CutlerFab have some ideas?

I feel like this is where something came from for one of the tractors at one point when oem parts were backordered. I don’t know of anyone local that makes or stocks custom cables. If anyone has something like this or could find something like it, it would be Tractor Parts Co on 601 heading from Mayberry to Dobson. They’re just on the right after you cross under 74. They have tons of catalogs to roll through behind the counter usually.

For what it's worth, here's my old receipt from 2014. Was $34 in '14 dollars 😜
Maybe a part number will be of some help.
