So, after years of fighting the OE Jeep "bind-O-matic" shifter linkage (lower column> frame mounted pivot> TH-400), I converted it to cable using a few parts leftover my brothers Lokar "Universal" kit & a new cable from them.
Worked absolutely fawking MINT for 2 rides!
Unfortunately, during the Veterans Ride, it melted a 4" section of the sheathing (3" above the exhaust) ... Slapped 79 zip-ties on it and finished the day
While I _could_ replace it with another Lokar cable, IMHO it's a total POS!
Aside from the actual cable, there's ZERO metal in them (no additional lateral/radial reinforcement) ... just a cable inside a tiny plastic tube
Looking for recommendations on another brand of cable that has additional reinforcement?
A buddy just got the Sand Hollow shifter and it came with a CableCraft cable and appears to be well constructed, but can't reach anyone at that company
Lokar says it's 72", but could likely do with 60"...
