So a buds got a POS Blazer with worn out 4.3L motor mounts. He's having some rough times, so trying to help him out...

On a 1 to 10 scale what's the PITA factor?

Is it like doing any other vehicle?
- unbolt 1 end of mount(s)
- jack up engine (1 side at a time)
- replace mount(s)
- drop engine down
- bolt loose ends down

OR is it designed strictly for midgets, side lifts, & easier to replace by pulling the entire engine kinda deal?

I had a 4.3 in a YJ, and replaced the mounts once. I found it helpful to loosen the tranny mount from the skid plate as well. It was also helpful to have a good size crow bar to convince the motor to line back up with the frame mounts. Overall not too difficult, but again, my experience was with the Chevy 4.3 in a YJ and not a Blazer.

Mega PITA. Prolly around a 7 or so.

You've got the logic, but be prepared to make imaginative use of ratchet straps to various point in the garage if they're real bad.

I replaced a set in mine once and it went pretty easy. Then helped a bud (also 4.3) and we had to pull the engine forward with one strap and off the the driver's side with another, then lift it. Holy PITA
