Rescue EMS 'Donation'

What is up with these donation requests? Basically tell you if you don't pay $60 you might have to pay $500 IF you have to use ambulance transport.

BUT if you pay $60 you can use it unlimited times all year for you AND your family...

What do my taxes really pay for ???

Sometimes there are ''Non-profit'' organizations that exist solely to pay the salaries of the execs. that work them...like the Police orgs. that call. By law, these non-profits must give AS LOW AS 5% of their revenue to the org. they are representing.

They use all kinds of tactics and often their ''verbage'' will scare the would be donors into donating.

Technically speaking...if there is not enough money to run the local ems...911 could perhaps call a private meat wagon for you, and they can charge whatever..So by using the word ''might'' they are legal in what they are saying...even if the odds are 1 in a million that your local ems will shut down.
