reservoir mount for radiator

I've got a reservoir for a radiator with no cap. My question is, does the reservoir need to be mounted below the radiator cap or be above the cap some? I'm thinking below, but I can't convince myself and haven't found much online. Input is appreciated.

Everything I got [3 different autos] are mounted 2-4 " below top of radiator.

honestly it doesn't really matter. If it's a 'catch can' it a pressurized discharge from the rad cap to the catch can. if the radiator cap is a 'recovery' cap then its a pressurzied discharge into the res but then a vacuum siphon back into the radiator. neither rely on gravity to function
