Bought a set of re-tread tires yesterday for my Full size Jeep Cherokee. From Southern Tire in Glen Alpine
Size 235 15
Got the more aggressive tread, looks like a Maxis Buckshot Mudder Radial.
They also have a wrangler type tread, and a regular mud/snow tread.
$160 for 4
He told me right off they would be noisy, So, I expect that
I will update as I see how they do. It's not something that will get driven a lot.
I will also post some pics later

yes he has other sizes, but nothing real big. He will cap your tires if you have a set that's worn out

First impression, yes, they are loud
Didn't bounce, weave or hop, seem to ride decent

Prepair for the longest lasting tires you may ever have. I talked to a guy who retreads tires and he did his personal mud truck and seemed 2 retreads together (width) in the 80s for mud racing in badin or something like that. He said he just did them for that event but after driving to badin from statesville he decided they could handle hwy speeds. he said he took them off after 70,000 miles and 10+ years on the road and they still had tread left.

They are limited on size due to the fact that they have to heat the tires in their machines so unfortunently i think the biggest is like maybe 32x11.5.

vilas tire and auto in vilas nc near boone gets them every tuesday they can order any size bfg patterns mud or at the lady quoted me 98 a tire any size not sure if that means big ones i aksed for 35 by 17 and that what she said.

just my 2 cents

Anybody out there do sizes larger than 37"?

how do you guys feel about retreads for a tow vehicle? i'm looking for some 235/85-16 and this is starting to look like a very affordable option.

My brother is running retread 225/75R19.5 on his F450, and they are still doing great.

I thought this video was interesting. Not sure if treadwright uses the same process or not.

I'm in the same boat with the same size tire on my old F350.Atleast the 2 on the rear anyhow.

So far, I am pleased. I took the Jeep up old 105 and it was a cake walk all except the big hill. It stopped going forward, but I stayed in it and it dug down and kept creeping forward, finally drove on to the top.
all the down hills went well too, the tires had plenty of grip and kepted me from doing any sliding at all.
I wouldn't go with this tread on a DD, but a part timer it ain't bad.

do you think the mud/ snow tread is more streetable for a dd? also do you happen to know if they have anything around 32s or so?

No updates from me, sorry. After the tranny swap it has a vibration and I have not traced it down so the Jeep has just sat there.

It would be nice if someone could do retreads for swampers especially for off-road use only tires.

Upnover do have any pics of the re-treads you got. Anyone know of a place a little closer to Black mountain than morganton. I really need to get tires tomorrow or Tuesday for my Xj. I was going to go with treadwright but they're backordered for 3 weeks.
