I think this has been mentioned before, anyone know of a place to get an axle retubed?

I guess he still does some work here and there, I e-mailed him about retubing an axle a couple of months ago, he said he could do it.

I called him after I saw the link. He still does work. He told me he wanted to call me back later in the evening or the next morning to discuss it. I gave him my number and I haven't gotten a call back yet and its been a couple days. I will probably call him today.

I have called a few places so far. Not to many people do it anymore. Most believe that it's not cost effective. For the most part it usually isn't but in my situation it will be. If anyone knows someone who will do it please post up.

This reminds me of the last time I saw extreme 4x4. The guy was building an axle. He LABORED to say the least with getting the tubes in the chunk. There was no mention of him heating the center section and I wondered why he didn't heat it. I read an article once about how Currie heats the center section up and the tubes drop right in when lubed with RTV.

If Bill isn't able to help you, call Freddie or Anthony @ Oliver's Driveshaft on Liberty St in Winston - 724-1021. If they can't do anything for you, they should know who can. I hope this helps. Later, T.J.
