I just picked up a Dana 44 HP for a good price; I need to have it retubed to work with my WJ. Does anyone know where and who does this work in the Fayetteville or Raleigh area?

Thank you for all your help

unless it was already retubed or custom built, it should be driver drop, so you shouldnt need that axle to be retubed, are you saying you want it cut down to stock WJ width?

It has cast c's and I cannot cut them off so I need new tubes put on it. The reason why is because where the c's are is the same place I need to weld my coil mounts.

The only place I found that will do this is Carolina Rock Shop.

Even if the axle was free, I can't see this being cost efficient over buying a D44 that will not need retubing. Am I wrong?

kc4x4 I have been looking for one that does not need to be retubed and it is next to impossible. All the D44HP I have found are casted c's, the ones I have found that are welded c's are either $200 or more and are out of state. All I need is the housing because I will be totally rebuilding this axle anyways.

Its already a HP diff on the drivers side, which is what i need. Grand cherokee's are a driver side drop.

have you thought about using the ford radius arms? i know its not for everyone, but it seems to work well for a lot of people, i know (think) BRUISER on the board runs his like that, and that could solve the problem of needing to retube, and save loads of cash

No I cannot use the Ford radius arms.

I went through this once before. Cut the tubes off a few inches from the housing. Then call Currie and tell them you are sending them a core and get them to retube one for you to your specs. Cost me about 350 another 200 in round trip shipping cause fedex will ship anything ground as long as it is in a box.
