Rich - "He can't help it..He went to DPG!"

THEBLUYAK thats 2nd with the rev lim. i have full faith in it. i have been to dpg with nothing breaking in it. i would also like to say that with driving on the road, my 44 with 39s has not broke like your "real world" experience. When i break something i will let you know but for the past year with nothing going, i am sure its about to happen.

if it works for you more power to you. I know when I do my 44 front I wouldnt trust 39's on it, but thats me. Nice cherokee by the way

I can tell you Mac and Ben have both been rutheless on there 44's. And neither have broken JACK. Mac runs 38's and Ben 39's. The bobbylong u-joints have taken everything they can throw at them and they dont wheel like pansys.

The second pic is a pic of Bens Cherokee a year or 2 back and on 38" TSL SX's so the 44 has been taking a beating for quite a while.

Bluyak.......you need to run 39's on a dana 44, wheel it, break it, then talk some shit. I ran 37's locked f and r on an IFS toyota tacoma for 3 years, and only broke 3 cv's. I was told that my truck would fall to pieces with anything bigger than 33's on it, and that the small ring and pinion couldnt hardly handle 33's....but guess what? I Also took the same IFS rig up lower 2 at tellico twice, once unassisted(before the big rock was moved) and once with a winch after the big rock was moved. What i'm trying to get at is don't beleive everything you read on the internet, get out there, do some testing of your own, then report back to us on if it is true or not. With that in mind, now I am only running 37's on my 44 front, BUT, once i do chromo's and bobby l's u joints, i may step up a size or two......

Josh

Im sorry I have based those aligations on reading, if it works then good, maybe ill consider stepping up tires when I get my 44, but you cant expect me to know what kind of shafts, u joints all that stuff he is running, if he has stock u joints stock shafts and then expect to run 39's locked its a different story. I just assumed he did not invest in chromos and upgraded joints.

60's are over rated, i got 39.5 Iroks on a front 44. no big deal, save the weight with a 44. 60 blah blah blah, whatever...

I think it was this quote that got the YAK going :) It sure dosen't mention UPGRADED 44. I would disagree that stock 60s are overrated compared to a stock 44 though. Of course my original post didn't mention stock 44 shafts, but that was pretty obvious from the pic. I rode it hard for a year from Tellico to Callalantee to Dayton to Robbinsville to Uwharrie and it had held up fine. It was just it's time to go. The basic premise of the original post was to give props to DPG for it's toughness and to poke a little fun at myself for the damage I suffered there when I had gone over a year without breaking anything :) Everybody lighten up, run what you want, break what you want and have fun :)

thank you. in the begining I was simply laughing at what Rich said, someone had to be a smart ass and run there mouth and thats what started all of this. I have nothing agaisnt 44's Im going to run one up front but from every past experience I have read about, a 44 simply wont hold up to that kind of abuse. True if you spend extra money it can be built to hold up to that abuse, but so can a Dana 30. No where did he specify "oh btw I run chromos and upgraded U's " I simply asumed he ran the stock stuff, no one said otherwise. Josh, im sorry that it obviously upset you that much and im glad everything is working for you.

Sorry i was being "a smart ass and running my mouth" as you say. Im just saying dont get involved in a "tech" discussion when you have no experience other than web reading. Maybe its just me but your posts come across as you being a know-it-all kid. Go out and get some actual experience, then come back and post your findings. Don't post things just because you have read it on pirate. I would bet that i have been reading the web and magazines since you were in elementry school, but generally do not post the info i have read unless i have had actual experience with the part in question.

Please keep posting bluyack, you are really making friends.

Oh and I'm done. Just wanted to share my feelings.

trust me guy, you really dont upset me. Dont get YOUR panties in a wad when someone corrects you either.....

oh, i did run the 38.5s SX on stock shafts and only broke one u joint, when i went to the 39s i did chromos and bobby longs. If you honestly think i think 60s are over rated and a 44 is better, then i guess i understand why i got to stirred up, sorry about that. sorry for being the smart ass i am. and since you did all this research on how a 44 will not stand up to this abuse, come wheel with us and get some more research for your findings.

i seen that 92 cherokee getting it and he didnt break shiat at the playground. a stock 60 is really not all that great and is especially not that great in smaller vehicles.

Something nobody has mentioned is the fact that anything could be broken, no matter what you are running. The most important thing is how hard you mash those pedals on the floor.
