Riding mower loses power

The seafoam would have cleaned more than it would have fouled. Have you checked the valve lash? I am not sure about the kawi but the briggs are bad to have the OHV engines go out of spec and run weird.
Nope... b/c it works now;-).

I'd say the plugs were the main problem. Also wondering, for all & anyone, that pours whatever, into the carb? Did you pour it down the throat? If so, probably 98% went straight into the intake. Not the carb. I had the top off the carb, with the float out [optional] to wipe out the bowl. Besides pouring the bowl with cleaner, I pulled the full line at the fuel pump, inserted the line into the bottle, & spun the engine over. Made sure it pumped the cleaner through the line, needle & seat. Did any get into the jet? Not sure. But before I had opened up the carb, with the fuel line pulled, I cranked the engine & let it run a minute off the bottle. Then let it sit overnight. When That didn't fix it, Then I pulled the top of the carb, for more service. I think a piece of grit had gotten in the jet, & wasn't dissolving. After probing everything with tip cleaners, it seemed to be fixed. Had no problem since, & have mowed about 5-6 hours now.

The full-speed issue is your governor needing cleaning/adjustment/replacement. No clue what it looks like on that engine but it will need some work to get the RPM dialed back up.

My 05 Craftsman w the B&S 24hp Intek. was flawless for bout 12 yrs.w oil changes every year and plugs every 2 years. This was mowing grass about every other week in the summer and blowing/mulching the leaves into the natural areas in the fall for weeks. One day I noticed the motor was shaking but the power was fine. Then I noticed it was missing when I gave it the throttle and went back to idle. I pulled the valve covers and one of the rockers had dropped the intake valve.I reset the rocker and it runs like a beast still today. I think I might have ran it for a few hours w the dropped valve, but at full throttle I could not tell it was running weak or loosing power. I now have 280 hrs. on it and it still runs well.

Now my push mower runs like a scalded dog but the "pusher" is loosing power on hot days every year, so I try to use it in the morning and the evening o_O .
