Levon Helm passed away today. I think it was nctom who posted the other day that he was not doing well...

Thanks for posting.

I knew about levon from listening to outlaw country on XM,but I didnt know until he passed that he had appeared in several movies. After I read which ones he was in I was like "oh yeah" that was him.I went today and was gonna pick up his dirt farmer cd but nobody had it.The record store had more latino music than country.
Heres a couple,favorite first.

Grew up on his music and the last waltz. Dad went to see them live back in the day and still says to this day it was the best concerts! RIP Levon :(

Saw an EPIC tribute cover of "The night they drove old dixie down" By Trampled by Turtles at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte last night. Simply awesome.

I was listenin to the Steve Earle show on XM last night and the show was dedicated to Levon and most of the music was his or was by groups like "the band" that he played in.I know Steve Earle played w him some and he seemed pretty choked up at times.Im sure Shooter Jennings will do one also.

BJ is funny as hell, but dude is crazy. :shaking:
