For those who grew up listening to Car Talk...
http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/03/showb...-magliozzi-car-talk-dies/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

Ever since I was little, my Dad made it a point to tune into Car Talk whenever possible while in the car, or the shop. It always stuck with me.
Even today, for some crazy reason I seem to make it a point to be working in the garage at 10am on Sat or 2pm Sun (local broadcast time here) and listen in the background. Although a lot of the show was just dumb, I must say I learned a LOT from listening to these guys, and actually talking about The Puzzler w/ my parents. My son Jonas loves thinking about them too.

Thank buddy, RIP.

Pikup Andropof will be very sad to have only one passenger.

My Dad is the same way. I've listened to that show on many a Sunday morning. Will be tough not to hear Magliozzi's voice.

That does suck. I listen to that show all the time for laughs. I think the last few years have been reruns though I wonder if they will keep the show on?

Yes, they retired in Oct of 2012. Foir awhile they were playing unreleased archives, now just reruns.
Ray has specifically said that the family would prefer the show to keep going.

I can remember listening to those guys on the way to and from weekend sports games and whenever my dad and I would go up and work on his boat since all we had there was a radio. Some good memories listening to these guys and laughing at all the funny names in the credits.

The show that kept NPR afloat. Many great memories of road trips with the Magliozzi brothers. Sad day.

My dad and I would listen to them all the time. For a while my dad and I lived down here in NC while the rest of my family lived back in PA till we could sell our house up there. Many trips with my dad back home listening to Car Talk.

My favorite one was where a guy called in because he had a chunk of the Berlin Wall in the back of his dad's BMW and was trying to figure out a way to get it out without tearing up the car.
