River tubing in NC?

I need some suggestions on a river, campground, and if alcohol is permitted. The Green river is out.

went up there and stayed in one of their sleeper cabins w/ my gf for $56 a night, pretty nice little cabins that keep you dry. its $3 to rent a tube all day, the rapids are pretty fun

Give me a call sometime. My dad is a raftguide at the ocoee. It's a pretty hardcore river, but can be fun as well. Plus there are pretty good discounts to free rafting. Plus, tellico is on the way.

Otherwise, the catawba offer is still open. Plus if you have your special devices license, we can spear fish.
 
still creek or steel creek, something like that also in burke maybe upnover knows something about it. all i know is my bossman heads up there bout once a month. they allow alcohol.
 
the haw river right past lake jordan is free alcohol is ok and the rapids are fun ( only after it rains though)
 
RiverCamp USA right on the New River. They sell alcohol in the little general store at the campground. You can rent an extra tube to strap your cooler to and have a ball. The shuttle service they offer means no DWI. As they either pick you up at the end of your tubing trip or you are driven up river and float back down to RiverCamp USA.

We go on the Dan river in Danberry next to Hanging Rock. you can take alcohol down the river no problem. You just get another tube for your cooler. Very fun and always lots of hot chicks getting crazy! LOL... boobies!

Thanks for the replies.I've been on most of the named rivers in some form or another. I had been looking into tubing the New, Dan or rafting the Nolichucky. Braxton we definetly need to hit the Ocoee, Scott I'll let you know as soon as I figure something out. Noah I hear ya on the boobies:beer:

That was going to be my suggestion, very cool place to go.
 
Yeah, there was this one girl last time that just kept taking her top off. We were in hillbilly heaven!!!

The water level has been good this summer. Last summer it was very low. Just keep a watch on the water levels. I think there is a NC state park site you can check or just call the tubing place and they will tell you how long it will take to get down the river. Last time it took us about 4 hours and we stopped a few times to sight see. :D:D

yep....dan river is always fun but only go if it has been raining a few days leading up to it or u will be carrying your tube more than floting in it. as the Dan River Co. canoe rental t-shirts say..."Dan River....More Rocks than Water"
 
I marinated in the Tuck for 5 1/2 wonderful years. Float the New every once in a while.
 
I floated down the dan yesterday! Other than gettin my ass stuck a few times it was great! I didnt get to see any boobies though, well except for the chick that was floatin with me! Probably be going back next saturday!
 
I need a source for tubes now. Mine got left in a friends outbuilding and are dry rotted all to hell now:shaking: I've searched all over the web and haven't really found what I was looking for. They need to be the big truck/18wheeler tubes.

I am going down the Ocoee in late July. Can't wait. It will be my first time on that River. We are going with Wildwater LTD.

I'd be up for a tubing trip down the Dan river or something if you are getting a group together.
