I've seen the RK 3 link in action quite a few times and have been quite impressed with it. My question is I can get the RK 3 link with their bomb proof track bar kit for $700 shipped to my door. I could build my own setup and save maybe $200 at the most. Is the engineering and already having everything planned out worth it? Should I just go with the RK stuff or should I build my own with JJ or Creeper Joints?

the rk three link and dont look back, they have upgraded the joints since mine
but i have never had a problem anyway
i would do the exact same over again w/out question
i got mine from ebay $400 new, shipped
got rk the trac bar and mount for $150 shipped (ebay)

lust my $.02

Not to through cold water but I got the RK gen 2 kit on my TJ and have had lots of issues with it. I go through joints pretty quickly and let me tell you it really sucks when you break one of the three control arms that hold the front axle on. That said, it flexes so good that without limiting straps I can reach in and pull my coil springs straight out between the extended bump stop and the spring bucketwhen fully articulated. Hence the need for limiting straps. Maybe my Jeep is one in a thousand but I wish I had gotten a different lift.

Are you driving it on the street at all? Mine is going to be trail only.

not to go off topic but i bought the full 5.5" Rubicon Express long arm with tri link and driving on the street and off roading it wares components out quicker than just taking it on the trails. you shouldnt have much to worry about as long as you do proper maintenance.

i have 3 friends who run the RK three link, two on tjs and one on an xj and i havent heard anything bad from them yet. but when it comes down to it, if you want articulation it is the kit to go with and for the price you cant beat it, just make sure you do what ROX&MUD said about the limiting straps.

Where did you find that deal....??

Build your own. Not to mention, they may be under "new management" but after their dumbassery on pirate...I would certainly never buy anything from them.

Sorry, been away for a while.
Yes, I can drive it on the street but it is VERY SCARY. I think most of it is due to the very soft RK springs. My Jeep will only do about fifty mph in it's current set up and it reminds me I need life insurance when I try to drive it over 30. If you ever talk to Chase (Cperry) ask him how fun it is to drive.
Andy formally of CRS has also expressed to me his distaste for RK's kits to the point he would not work on them.
I have one, I hate it but I'm stuck with it until I'm independently wealthy.

I probably have ~$800 in my 3-link, but the links are heavier duty (2.0 x .25), I have adjustable JJ's, all my brackets are 1/4" or 3/8", and I am running SAW 2.0 16" air shocks.
