Anyone know about this? Not many details. Seems to me this guy is an idiot for pulling over to fight a couple younger men with his wife and child in the car. Secondly, if you're going to sucker punch someone, make it count. That guy has an easy 50lbs on those guys. No way should the driver(i assume) be able to take a sucker punch and bounce back. Also if the woman, who saw her husband getting pummeled by these two guys, was to draw her weapon in an attempt to dissolve the situation would she still be charged? Obviously when he points it at their car he's breaking the law. This is kind of how I imagine the Trayvon martin/ George Zimmerman fight went down.

When you are using a weapon in order to protect someone else, the person you are protecting must first be justified in using deadly force to protect himself before you can use said force to protect them. In this case he was not justified as he was the aggressor and she would be charged, if he had shown notice of retreat, and tried to retreat, and the guys continued after him attacking him, then he would be justified, but that was not the case in this video.

Absolute idiot for putting his wife and child in danger like that, he deserved the ass beating he got along with the charges for him and his wife in the reckless handling of the situation.

Ok that makes sense. I want to agree with you but I'd like to have more info first. ie What happened before/after the camera was on? Where were they? Did they pull over or were they in some type of parking lot(looks like it could be a park)?

I agree, more of a back story would be needed to make a full assumption, I saw the story on a different coastal news station, the story I got, the pickup cut off the suv, could have been on purpose, could have been unobservant drivers. Yes it would piss me off, but you survived, you didn't wreck, so why follow the pickup and confront them putting your wife/child in danger again? Not sure of location, but looking at the landscaping, driveway, and proximity of other homes in the beginning, it looks like someone's home. Appears pretty clear to me the guy followed them home, clearly threw the first punch, got the beat down as a result, and reacted like a child.

That sure is how it appears I just cant believe that guy is that stupid.
 
I still dont think something was quite right about it, the boys friend or whatever was smiling and laughing an awful lot about it. Im not saying he should have followed them for 40 miles just for that, but still dont think something is quite right.

Follow-up story here
Seems after he went back to his SUV, and the video ended, he left and came back a few minutes later to shoot the truck. That, to me, is premeditated.

It doesn't matter what happened before the camera was turned on. What he did was wrong, and he and his wife are now both going to suffer the consequences of their hot headed actions.

They may have been, but it still doesn't justify the reaction.
 
One of the guys I work with knows the two guys from Newport. They had just pulled up to on of their homes. I also read somewhere that the judge told the guy he's liable to rot in prison for 4 years.
 
That man is stupid. if you are going to pick a fight that is fine but when you are out numbered probably not a good time to do so or when you have your wife and kid in the car. But I can will say this. the kid in the car its probably the only reason they stopped when they did. Then pulling out a gun that is way past stupid. That is a good way to end up dead. Some people don't take to kindly to having a gun pointed at them. I think he got what he deserved.

The guys mugshot is priceless, I aint seen a shiner like that on MMA recently! and it appears his wife changed her hair or sumpin like they were trying to deny being there or being involved even w the video they knew was taken. I wonder if he'll ever legally own a gun again?

wtf kind of cheap ass estimate is that? Either dude basically missed the truck or they must have the worst damage estimator ever, you can't hardly replace a mirror for $200.
