Does anyone know the land owner(maybe recently purchased)
where those that go, often camp? Its at the top near the road.Cherohala Skyway. Right where the ruts are ,and that small parking area.Land owner may be a CTB member, or have ties to one.

Any help would be great.
 
Ed Satterfield was the hook up. Used to be a club member, lives in Robbinsville but travels a lot for business. Not sure who owns the property.
 
if you are right at the split for the cherohala, go to the right (not on the skyway) abou .5 miles and there is another dirt/gravel road to the right. That is Santeetlah creek access. There is tons of free camping all along there. And some damn good trout fishing if thats your thing

I did read it , but I have riden Robbinsville many, many times with CTB. We were just looking for some land owners.
Ed Satterfeild is one name we were forgeting. And I also found another familiar name, that is also a land owner.
 
Yes thats the other name. He PMed me about it, so i wasnt sure whether to say his name or not.Just being safe. Thank you for the info.
 
That area is a hoot. Have not been there in nearly 30 years but I will say that it was full of hogs. Did two trips there and all I can say is "running through the jungle" tune from Creedence is right on. Short barrel shot guns and mag wheel guns blazing. When we left and stopped at the gas station at the cross roads, we caught hell for all the blood left at the gas pumps. Man, it was something. Would love to do it again
but I think the bones and lungs would not hold up. Joyce Kilmer Game Lands area if I remember correctly.
