Paging Ricky.......

they are 48x31x20 floatation tires most are goodyear 23 degree. we run them on our 2.5 ton trucks i have 8 of them can send pictures if you want. but that is a little tire for a 5 ton. 5 tons got 9.44 gear where 2.5tons got 6.72s. hope that helps

the rear is 48x31x20 they are usually on 26 inch wide wheels and are very heavy. the fronts are 48x25x20 on 18 inch wide wheels. these tires are only good for car crushing, in the mud they just spin on top and they take a lot of power to spin them. the 48x31s weigh about 500lbs or more each!!

what do you want to do with the truck?

Those tires are huge a heavy! You better have one hell of a motor/trans/case. My buddy used to work for asplundi or however you spell it and I'm thinking he said the tires are like 2,000 each. Also the fronts and rears and different widths.

5 tons have 6.44 gears, some have a 10.** if they came in weapons carriers.

The use of those tires on anything other than service trucks. Even the service trucks get stuck with them.

sorry about the mistake there eric, i thought 5 tons had 9.** gears in them. there is a junkyard in eastern nc that has the 10 lug rims 20x26 for like 350 a piece with tires for extra. just letting you know.

5 tons and tires

I'm running Front and Rear steering 5 tons [10.24 gears] with 61 tall tires - came off Cat C-12 motorgrader, weigh about 900 lbs each

Yea 5 tons are all well and good, but you gotta have one heck of a motor to be able to really do anything with the truck, its just too heavy, 2.5 tons are too heavy as is, however a skinny tall v tread and enough power can overcome it . . . talk with Eric (Bottomland4x4) he'll put you in the right direction, he's the Local expert :driver:

But x10 on staying away from the wide tires unless all your after is a wide look and no go, your talking Mega Truck range at this point, completely different game

So what motor are you planning on running?
